A Mother's Day Tribute

ree

I've been lucky to have two amazing mother figures in my life. They have shaped how I move in the world and receive it.

My birth mum is one of the feistiest women you'll ever meet. But her kindness and generosity led her into lifelong friendships and a business from which she retired.

Her kindness wasn't soft in the way people thought of kindness. It was strong. It moved things. She gave without hesitation. Watching her, I learned that kindness isn’t passive. It’s active. It’s showing up for your people. It’s generosity, even when it’s inconvenient. It’s choosing connection over competition.

Because of her, I learned that relationships are worth investing in and that friendships can span decades when they’re built on trust, respect, and the willingness to give more than you take. She built a business from that same foundation. People didn’t just come for a service; they came for her, for how she made them feel.

Her kindness taught me that success isn’t just about strategy. It’s about soul. And when I serve my clients and care for my girls, that’s her legacy coming through.

My stepmom, who raised me, is attentive, intuitive, and discerning. She wasn’t surrounded by many people, but the few friendships she had were deep, lasting, and rooted in something real.

She listened with her whole being. She noticed the shift in tone through the look in the eyes, the pause between words. Being raised in that kind of presence taught me that connection starts with paying attention and that people feel safe when they feel seen.

Her discernment shaped how I move through the world, allowing me to sense what’s really going on beneath the noise. She gave me the lens to recognize value, listen for truth, and move with intention.

Her words have always been encouraging, which is why I care so deeply about doing right by others. Because of her, I’ve learned to receive the world with curiosity instead of judgment, with thoughtfulness instead of haste. This has made all the difference in my relationships and in my work.

I hope you celebrate the mothers in your life this Mother's Day and take a moment to reflect on the importance of their love in our world.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. We see you, we love you, we thank you!
